People take for granted the atmosphere of their homes and businesses, but if you think about it the most important system and most forgotten system is your heating and ventilation situation.

From the design phase, to installation and maintenance you need your heating and ventilation to be in top notch working order at all times. Even if you haven’t paid attention to the ventilation and heating systems in your home or business you may want to have them assessed and be sure they are right for your particular situation. You may not realize that something could be wrong. Even the slightest problem can go unnoticed and present your with discomfort you didn’t even realize. And, it could also be in an unhealthy situation. A professional can find things you can’t like organic materials that lay have grown in your system.

That is why you should strive to maintain a healthy heating & ventilation system. Comfort also means healthy and for all you know you maybe breathing in impure air and causing health problems that may show up sometime in the future. Nobody wants that situation. See how heating and ventilation can be neglected and forgotten about? Your safety and comfort can be compromised and you wouldn’t even necessarily know it. Having everything working in top order means never having to compromise your comfort or health again.

So, to reiterate designing, installing and maintaining the right heating and ventilation system for your home or business is one of the most important components of your building. Radiant Floor Heating

Radiant Floor Heating

How many times have you walked barefoot on your tile floor in the middle of winter and said “Man that’s cold!”? A few times I’m sure. Well, with radiant floor heating you can say goodbye to cold feet on your tile floor. Radiant floor heating goes further than just keeping the floors in your home warm. It also helps in warming the entire house.

How does radiant floor heating actually work anyway? Basically, it’s a system of hot water tubes that are connected to the sub-floor. Thermal flooring is then installed over the top of these tubes which will take the heat and transfer it out into the room.  It is kind of like how an old hot water radiator worked when you were in school. At least those of us who are old enough to remember those radiators in the classrooms.

The heating source can be from any number of hot water resources. Because of how flexible the flooring system is, it makes for many different options.  What I really like about radiant heat flooring is that it is so quiet. You have no idea the system is even running. I love it in the bathroom!  It is also a very energy efficient heating system and dramatically reduces the need to run the furnace. If you are searching for a way of keeping your floors warm in the winter and save money on your heating bills, consider taking a serious look at radiant heat flooring.  by Terry Edwards

Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning-Improve Your Indoor Air Quality

Posted by Brennan Heating and A/C No Comments »

Today’s Seattle homeowners are realizing that keeping a home comfortable is about more than just temperature control. The quality of the air you breathe is too important an issue to ignore.  Cleaning the air inside your home is more important now than it ever has been. Beginning with the energy crisis of the 1970s, new construction homes have become better insulated to prevent the escape of heated or cooled air. These air-tight, energy-efficient homes also seal in dust, dirt, pollen, mold, skin flakes, bacteria and other airborne pollutants. These pollutants settle on your furnishings, your woodwork, and even in your lungs.

Airborne irritants are simply a fact of life. Molds can cause flare-ups of allergy symptoms, and in some cases, trigger asthma attacks. Bacteria, viruses and germs also can reside in the air you breathe every day. These airborne pollutants can affect your home comfort equipment, too. Allowed to circulate through your home and your system, these and other particles can build up on the indoor coil, inhibiting airflow and reducing heating and cooling efficiency.

The dust pictured above contains pet hair (rust brown) , pollen (yellow) , plant fibers (green) , dead skin cells (light to medium brown) , dirt and minerals (orange) , textile fibers (blue) , and spider silk (pink) .

Learn how to combat these issues as well as control your humidity and leave your home with cleaner, fresher air with a full line of air quality products including electronic air cleaners, ultraviolet lights, and humidifiers.

Call Brennan Heating and Air Conditioning today for your indoor air quality needs.  Serving Seattle and the Puget Sound.
